Shadow -

I know we've been having lots of fun joking around all over the www.interweb.com.org.net but I wanted to tell you a few things before you and the new sled are united...

We are by no means the fastest/skilled riders on the street. While it's true we've learned fast and developed our skills fairly quick, we still have a lot to learn.

This will be your first liter bike and I'm scared for you. You'll have literally DOUBLE the hp and it's gonna take years to get used to. As I've been saying, I think I'm only getting 3/10's out of my current bike and you'll still have 30 more hp than I (at least for now). My brain can't get over the speeds that are possible when entering/exiting corners and I make a lot of unneccessary mid corner corrections becasue of that. The end result? Trail braking too deep, pushing the front, or running wide, something that I've been luckily able to deal with thus far. But on a liter bike? That might spell trouble.

I know that you'll be able to grow into your bike maturely and I know that you'll be taking it easy for a long time to come but for fuck's sake BE CAREFUL!!! Get a back protector and stop riding "loose". I'd really hate to have anything bad happen to you. I'm gonna tell all this to Jake this week too as he takes delivery and I'll be telling myself the same things as I take delivery in the near future (hopfully).

Everytime I leave me house to go for a ride on my current bike, whether it's to run errands locally or to go on a Sunday ride I always have a little fear in my heart because I know what the bike is capable of. On my last 2 rides, the fear has been slowly but surely ebbing away which IMO in not a good thing. In order for me to learn my bike I feel I need to push it to find it's limits but the ironic thing is that I don't have the skill to push it too far. Baby steps is what I'm saying and I'm hoping you have more sense than I do. I'm hoping you'll keep the fear every time you throw a leg over the bike.

Basically what I'm trying to say is... DON'T FUCK AROUND! Be very CAREFUL, MINDFUL, and FEARFUL of what you're riding. That being said, I'm looking forward to taking it to the next level with you and the rest of the crew (if they ever have time to ride with us again).

e - you're like my conscience except you're speaking out loud. which is good b/c sometimes it's hard to hear. i realize that at anytime i can be stricken from my trusty stead's perch & usually (notice i didn't say always) err to caution when riding.

however...lately that caution has been thrown to the side of the road as i had become far too familiar with the ol' SV's capabilities. i must say, as fun as it was, i was riding over my head on 125 (the first leg that i lead) & certainly should've listened to my cautious self. i however, wanted to see what the SV really had & although it was super fun, was not one of my brighter moments.

now, with the RC, i'm worried (& that's a good thing) that i'll not be able to handle all of its might, so i won't be pushing it for a long, long time. you've done your job in instilling the fear from your high-side comments & your stories of your transition from the 695 to the 749. so, with that in mind, i appreciate your concern & will certainly be one of the slower ppl on our next few rides (at least).

Well, I'm glad to hear that my highside jokes made it through your head.
Look at it this way, the RC had MORE ft/lb's of torque than the SV had hp! That my friend is CRAZY. To mention nothing of the fact that you'll have a throttle tube allowing you to get to WOT in hardly any movement of the wrist... you'll have to wait a real long time to open the throttle at corner exit!! Not such good bikes for Ohayo.
I haven't even seen the my bike yet but I'm already pretty scared of it. Grilled cheese runs and 150mph+ on the slab? Cool (not that I condone such behavior/irresonibility). 80mph down Peekamoose? The idea's got my terrified! Yeah, we won't be going to PA anytime soon.

true & true e. OT, but i was trying to get a CRG clutch lever for my new ride & some asshat on speezilla from canadia was trying to sell me a lever for $80/shipped. wtf ever! i called CRG & talked to the same guy that i've dealt with before (joe - super cool & rides an rc too!) & he hooked me up with everything that i need for $37/shipped. $80/shipped...pssh, fuck that!
