1. Heated gloves are not overrated.
2. Someone needs to hurry up & make/fix a bridge from 30 to Roscoe.
3. If you ride behind someone on a faster bike you will try to keep up with them (even when you know you shouldn't).
4. Frost Valley is a lot of fun when you're doing #3.
5. We rode ~500 miles.
6. A battery will not charge & will go dead if its terminals are not tight.
7. E stuck around until my wife came with the new battery (thanks again).
8. She was surprisingly not angry.
9. Found out reason for #8 - she went shopping earlier in the day.
10. I'm really fucking tired right now.

Is that dirty dancing?
got home around 1.00am.
yeah, our hands were brick last night. i'm looking at heated gloves on eBay right now. bike didn't break down, the battery's strap broke & it was moving around which caused the terminals to loosen & that caused the battery to drain. my wife didn't kick my ass, b/c she is an awesome person.
dirty dancing was filmed in the 'skils - that's why i put that on there.
1.is that you and your wife after she brought you the battery?
2.if so, you had a lot of energy after riding that much.
3.what is doing #3? peeing and poopin' at the same time? and why is it fun to do in frost valley? j/k, i get it.
4.#9 is very funny
glad you had a good and safe ride. sorry you had drama but it is nice to have some support when you need it
"3.what is doing #3? peeing and poopin' at the same time? and why is it fun to do in frost valley? j/k, i get it." <---LOL
Yeah, yesterday was a lot of fun.
We had a group of 6 (2 Sv's) and 4 Ducs and apart from WS's break down and having to take the long way around the Skills park, there was no drama!
Oh, and everytime WS took off from a light, I though wifey was gonna fall off the back of the bike. Ease out the clutch mi brethen, ease it out...

will do. i was a little antsy with it last night b/c i was tired & just wanted to get home.
Dirty Dancing was shot in the Catskills? Learn something new everyday.
I haven't quite got the story straight. When/where did your battery die, Alan? I guess towards the end of the ride, right? I can't picture your wife treckin' out to Roscoe late at night and you not having a black eye. Then, how'd she get on the back of your ride. I'm confused.
I'm relieved to hear everyone made it home in one piece. I dunno, I had this weird feeling about you guys and that ride. I usually don't entertain the clairvoyancy type vibes, but this feeling was strange. Anyway, I'm glad you guys got back unscathed. Sounds like you enjoyed yourselves too.
Eric, I now crown you king penguin of the lunatic fringe. A 16 hour ride a week after the PA trip?! I haven't even caught up on my laundry yet!
the battery started to crap out earlier in the day & finally shit the bed ~42nd st. on the west side highway. yeah, i would've stayed the night up in roscoe if it broke down up there...oh, that weird feeling that you were experiencing mike was the feeling of regret. regret that you didn't come. lol j/k so, how was the desmo ride. oh, you guys watch the race at matchless? wow.
UF, Nope nothing bad happened on our ride apart from...
- An uninvited/confirmed rider showing up for the ride. How are you supposed to turn them down?
- WS & I having to ride the long cold way around the park to Roscoe's. That shit was COLD!!
- Once arriving at Roscoe's, the waitress forgot my curly fries.
- Me losing my plate somewhere on Frost Valley. Luckily Jake (Pakhan) stopped to pick it up.
- WS's bike dying, but that was an easy fix
- Me losing my cellie, and something about my back wheel coming off the ground while braking for a corner or something. Ws can tell you more about it since he saw it.
Oh, I also got stung in the neck by a bee. it must have gotten caught inside my collar as I was riding.
"back wheel coming off the ground while braking for a corner or something. Ws can tell you more about it since he saw it."
it was on the downhill (frost valley) right before a right hander. there some bumps in the road & his back wheel came up a little. it wasn't as crazy as elias in the motogp race, but still put a smile on my face when i saw it.
so, you get your iphone yet? also, we should do a grilled cheese run. it's been a while & pretty soon the temps are gonna start getting cold.
You lucky dog, you. Almost in your backyard... considering.
The DESMO ride was good. We mainly rode around Dutchess county. Very nice. I didn't realise how scenic Dutchess was. Roads where good too, but it's hard to be impressed after coming from a trip like PA. Ducthess is on my explore list.
Yeah, Matchless was packed! And that race was the best I've seen all year. Rossi was on like OJ in a jail cell! Ha! Best part of the evening... being bar stool sandwiched by two sweet smelling lovely biker babes; Tina and Hillary. Worst part of the evening... being sandwiched by 2 yapping women! For crying out loud ladies, there's a fuckin' race on! Shut your yaps! You guys haven't met Hillary. Good looking blonde, early 30s Jersey girl who races mini-motards (125s). Her current ride is a late model FI SV650. Black '03, I think. Nice girl, but she needs to "find herself". She's all over the place with jobs, housing and men. *rolls eyes*. But I'd still stick it. Heh. Hey, what can I say. I'm a man.
"Back wheel coming off the ground..."
What!!!
My brother, I hope you don't mind me saying, and I say this out of love, but you really need to take care of properly setting up that suspension. Priority number one, please. Specially if you're gonna ride hard like you do. I noticed you lowered the forks about an inch up the triple, but the rear hasn't been touched (yellow paint markings on the rear linkage stem/nuts). The whole geometry & balance is fucked. I'm sure that's what contributed to that rear flying up like that on a hard brake. That's just dangerous.
But I'm glad your skills kicked in and you rode it out, man. I'm wincing thinking about how bad it could have gone. If you had weak upper body strength, that front could have folded and you could have gone flying over the top of the bars. Yikes!
