Quite Possibly The Funniest Thing I've Seen

Uumm... no.

While it's true it's essentially a rat with a fluffy tail, I still don't find that funny or cool.

Had it been a little white human baby... now that would've been funny.

I agree... imagine a penguin, huh? Still funny?... I don't think so!

Immigrants get that sort of treatment all the time and I don't appreciate it!

We are not even going to talk about black folks.... they would have been hung from the tree after that stunt....

there are flying squirrels you know. while it is mean, i'm sure the squirrel got up & ran away virtually unharmed. if it had been hurt, then yeah, not funny.

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! E, you are stooopid!

well, you can imagine how i feel about it given i don't eat animals or their by products anymore...even though that isn't the reason why i chose to stop. but it isn't even about that, the fact that mankind feels he can get away with the abuse, experimentation, & exploitation of animals, plants, & other people (i won't even go there) without any consideration, respect or consequences for those things/beings is the problem.

i guess the bible didn't say "thou shalt not kill (or torture)... animals"
i guess that is why black people were considered less than "a man"
and that was constitutional for a time.

spreading love or even just some more consideration to other(whatever)s will go a lot further than what we've been doing.
this destructive behavior has taken its toll. we've been on this planet much less time than any other species but we've inflicted more damage and trauma to the planet and its inhabitants than anything else in a relatively short time.

i know you were just sharing what you thought was funny Shadow and maybe didn't expect these responses but that is what makes skdmrks unique, i think. and sure it isn't "that deep" if you don't want it to be and that is cool because we all have the right to make choices.
don't get it twisted though, it is all love. and i am not pointing fingers because we all are responsible. even though we ride bikes we still are using up the dead dinosaurs (that still amazes me, fossil fuel) but that is different than catapulting animals in the air for shits and giggles. squirrels have feelings too.

i'll end on this note:
"according to the UN, waste emissions from animals raised for food contributes more to global warming than all the car and truck emissions in the world!"

-and i'm not saying that people shouldn't be eating meat or animal products because the prerogative is theirs/yours/ours. what i am saying is we would all be better off by having more awareness about all we do, why we do it, why our parents/cultures do it, and the effects/consequences of our choices/actions.

wow, you guys are pretty deep, but being that those little buggers leave potholes all up in my lawn...

i thought that sh*t was excellent!! i watched it three times just to get the maximum enjoyment, and i'm laughing inside RIGHT NOW! it was great great great. that's cool you guys found it upsetting and or disturbing. i don't advocate torturing animals at all, but as a video someone sent to me, that was totally McLovin!

alas, what makes skdmrks special. it is funny because after i left my thoughts on the blog, i thought "now watch Marc jump on and say he loved it!" ha! this is great! good thread Shadow!
BTW- "Potholes in my lawn" was a great song

not that i'm condoning the catapulting of squirrels, but apparently there's a back stoy to this particular squirrel & the guy's lawn & trash. does it make it "ok"? probably not. while i initally didn't think of how this little vid would create such discussion, i think it's good. what's even better is that we all have differing views & that we all still get along. that to me is what makes skdmrks special.

Wow, I learned more about all of you in this one thread than I have since the time I've met y'all.

Now it's my turn. It's only fair, right?

Let me preface what's to come by saying I respect all living things. I put a higher regard on human life than I do plant or animal because humans can reason where, I believe, plant and animal cannot. I've had and loved pets. I've also hunted and killed for food. Grown plants for consumption.

I thought the video was funny. And I know why I found it funny. Because it touches a part of me that's evil or negative in my nature. Human nature. It feels good and natural to release it (releasing it through humour makes it more sociably acceptable). Just like it feels good and natural to help someone in need. Such as doing a good deed, except it's the polar opposite. It's about balance for me. I have to feel comfortable with both the evil and good in my human nature and learn how to use both for the betterment of myself and others. To deny or suppress either one leads to mental illness, neurosis, imbalance and ultimately death.

Oh, by the way, did I mention I have this little thing for Psychology? I like to consider myself of the Freudian discipline. While I'm at it, let me throw out a few more personal incongruencies for your mental entertainment. I was raised a Roman Catholic. Went to 12 years of Catholic School. I'm an atheist. I've been a staunch Republican since the time I could legally vote. The concepts and beliefs of moral relativism and multiculturalism make me ill. Also, because of the recent 9/11 anniversary, this is pertinent. Since the tragedy of 9/11 (I've lost friends and family there), I had this need to know who my enemies are and why they do. I've immersed myself in the study of the history and religion of Muhammad. I've come to the conclusion and truly believe the man suffered from schizophrenia and his religion is inherently evil. My favorite color is green. I love sour fruit. I believe homosexuality is a malformation of sexual development.

There, I've taken off all my clothes and stand naked before you. Just don't try to flick my pee pee because I'm uncircumcised.

Wow.... I was just kidding. I really did no think the squirrel had anything to do with white babies, immigrants or blacks.

It was just a squirrel searching for nut at the wrong time and place.
