happy belated bd e. hope you bd ride was great. sorry i haven't been around much, just family life keepin me busy. that and the troopty's exhaust system is down the shitter. lookin like upwards of $750 in parts just to fix. it's not lookin good for the old girl, so keep your fingers crossed.
by the way, i finally got rid of the old stodgy stock instrument cluster and upgraded to my sleek new digital unit from trailtech (everything except the speedo 'cause there's no room on my stock brake caliper for the magnetic sensor). next, i will be doing some rewiring so my system will accept indicator lights (ain't got none to speak of for now). then it will be all gravy baby. hope everyone has been cool since i've seen you all last. holla back if you can.

good to hear from you marc. sux about the troopty - cars be such a pita sometimes.
so, you got rid of the stock gauges? that's gonna really clean up your bike when you get them all hooked up. i remember on the SV forum, that ppl were complaining about the gas gauge not working with those too (not that you need it - you can ride to cali & back on one tank). if you need any help with the wiring just let me know.
thanks ws, i may take you up on the assistance, looks like i gotta do a slice and solder, scavenge some parts off the old hitachi 9 pin connector, turn some males into females, that sort of thing. probably won't happen till later in the week tho.
and the klr never had a gas gauge, the new digital doesn't have one to worry about either, i always figured gas via my odo, which i don't have one of those right now, so i'll just be waiting till i hit reserve (hopefully not mid-turn).

Well it seems like I am springing a leak. WS and I took a look at what we thought was the problem. Cleaned up a little and it seem to be good. But then this morning saw some more oil from a different spot. The oil was on the ground on a different side than before. I took a gander and it appears to be somewhere else. Waiting to see what tonight will bring.
Am thinking about taking her to Danbury since I will have to be up there Friday for work. Might be able to drop it off and pick it up at the end of the day. Need to call them tomorrow.
