Trying to nail down what weekend we can call go on this trip to PA. The area where we're going reportedly has better road than Deal's gap and has the added benefit of no police presence and extremely little to no traffic, other bikes included.
Thinking out loud, I'd like to leave from Bklyn sometime on a Friday, and return either very late Sunday, or Monday. If we'll be returning on Sunday, then that means a long trip on the slab for Friday (as we'll be going directly there). If we return on Monday then there'll be no slab at all on any day of the trip.
Since I'll be free of any obligations (the lady will be out of town for a month), I can go any time assuming Chronic can get my bike back to me ASAP. When can you folks go? I wanna nail this down ASAP so D2 has as much time to plan his schedule as possible. Jinx, I know it'll be tough for you to go but maybe you can cash in some of those relationship points you've been stacking up...
FYI, we'll be staying at a Super8 motel in Hancock MD which is 5 miles from all the good shit. Holla

that hotel in hancock, md is the one i stayed at on my return trip from ohio. funny shit.
i can go this weekend (doubt you'll be ready by then), or labor day weekned, or the weekend after that. labor day weekend is the best b/c i'll only have to take 1 day off of work.

I most likely can do it the weekend after labor day. Yet need to find out if I can take off Friday. For sure I can't do Friday and Monday. Sorry fellas...
Wish I could fellas... I don't think I can budget a PA weekend and a Deals Gap trip. To boot, vacation during this time very difficult. I'd be restricted to weekends.
Actually, I was just going over how much I'd need for accommodations, etc. for the Gap. If we're still doing this trip, we'd need to reserve a neat place very soon. We should talk about it over cheese or espresso or something else.
UF - i think we're leaning towards the PA trip instead of the gap trip. check the dealsgap.com site & you'll see why. - hint - it involves the 5-0.
At this point I don't know what to think about the trip to the Gap. On the one hand I still wanna go. Money won't be an issue (or shouldn't be by that point).
On the other hand, a few things concern me about going to the Gap. For one, the police presence. Apparently it'd been stepped up quite a bit especially on the Tennessee side on thing. I wouldn't want to go all the way down there just to get pulled over constantly, which is what's going on over there according to the killboy site. Secondly, it's the miles. I don't own a bike that can be ridden like I want to ride it. Even at a very conservative guess, I'll have accumulated at lease 2500 miles before we leave for the trip. Going there, 700 miles, coming home, another 700, riding there? Probably about 1k. Add it all up and guess what, i'll need yet another service by the time we come home, not to mention a new set of tires, so at this point, like I said, I'd still like to go, but the added miles have me thinking...
About this PA trip, what about if we leave Friday afternoon, and come home late Sunday, that way noone has to miss a day of work other than me? Klink, if D@, WS, and I go, we'll be 4 to a room, totally doable and FREE for you. I'll even pay for your gas cause I want to come....

UF.... and I can spot your food, so there you go.... no added expenses... well except for cigarettes. I don't buy those.... but then again, e can supply those.
UF, you have no excuse. If we can leave in the mid to late afternoon, I am completely down.
So we are talking about weekend of September 7th through the 9th. Correct? Let me know so that I can squeeze my schedule to not work that afternoon.
That's disappointing about the Gap. I didn't think the crack down was such a big deal.
PA... Wow. Thanks for the room, food and gas offer, guys. I really appreciate it. I'm touched even. But I still think I might have to pass at this point. Let me chew a bit on it more. Speaking of which, I'm going for a dental crown (or maybe 2) this afternoon. It's all I can think about beside work at the moment.
if the weekend we want to go is sept 7-9th, it'll be tough for me, but I can try. I have a golf trip down in Ocean city that ends on the seventh, and most of the week prior, I will be in AC with the fam. I would have to come back from Ocean City fri afternoon, and get on the bike to catch you guys, hopefully, by sat morning. hmm, sounds doable though, i'll have to get right on it with wifey, so let me know if we are nailing down these dates and times.
