so, as some of you know, i have been planning to ride to fly-over country & see the fam (ohio). this past saturday, i decided the weather was finally gonna cooperate & so i left bk.
the trip was gonna be 530 so, i broke the trip into 1/4s, stopping every 130 miles roughly. everything went well, w/out incidents and got to athens, ohio right at 7.00PM. did some visiting then i had to ride to dayton, ohio (about 150 to my sister's place) on sunday to see my brother, sister in-law & my nephew. did my thing there then, got some chain lube at my favorite bike shop (yamaha/honda of troy) & had some dude ask me if i was hot. i replied, "yeah, but it's better than being dead if i crash". he looked befuddled, that someone would actually put safety ahead of comfort. oh, well...couldn't begin to tell you how many ppl i saw w/out helmets on in ohio & pa. fools. road back to athens (another 150) to see my grandparents & uncles, etc. the ride was absolutely misearble. mid-90 weather with about 60% humidity. no matter how fast i went weather 70 or 90, it was still hot. so, i decided to just take it easy b/c i know there are mad popos on the route back, so i kept it around 75. when i got back i checked the weather and saw that in eastern pa there was gonna be between 50-60% chance of t-storms & "severe" winds. so, i decided that i'd leave after i talked with my mom and do at least 1/4 of the route monday night. the thought of riding in the hi-90s with high humidity made me actually ride half of the route starting at 11.00PM & stopping around 3.30AM in md. going through the wv & md mountains/hills was pretty awesome at night. temps were great (i was actually cold at some points) & my light was mad bright! so, glad i have that bright ass bulb, made the ride where there wasn't any light (which was most of the ride) much easier to not fall asleep. today i woke up around 10.30 and rode the final half back. got back around 4.30 & was glad to be off the bike. my ass is a little, but not a lot, sore & i'm just glad to be out of my leathers...

Congrats on your first long solo ride! I'm glad you suffered no mishaps big or small.
3 things ya gotta get though... a throttle lock, a Sargent seat, and HID!! True, your light's pretty bright but when I rode your bike that night at the beach I was like - "Yo, where the road at?", I'm used to my HID so you see...
yeah, i agree on the sargent & the HID, but i already gots the throttle lock, son! w/out it, i would've had carpel tunnel or some sort of disorder. overall, the bike did real well.
dope WS. thanks for the ride report. it was enjoyable.
i know i'm not the best at posting my ride reports but one day i'll become better at it, i promise.
glad you made it back safely and with good tales to tell
yeah yeah yeah, man. as the sultan would say "beastin!". glad you had such a nice trip and the riding was groovy.
WS... IN THE HOUSE!!!
Yo that ride update was hot... Glad everything went smoothly and glad that you wore all leather... not only is it safe, but damn sexy as well... so you know folks were feeling you. Oh, they might not have said it, but they were thinking it.
