now my bike actually acts like it WANTS to get into the 6000 rpm range, before i had to beg it to crack 5Ks. i had better get that new gas tank in a hurry, 'cause i'm gonna be runnin through 'em now.

what'd you guys do to the carb? you just give it a good cleaning or you what?
Drilled and shimmed for more better air flow, the shit got louder too.
it turns out i need to take one of the shims out. i measured them today, .5 for one washer. the mod calls for two washers at .2-.25, i've got two at .5, so she is still running pretty lean. maybe tonight after i out the kids to bed and take the garbage out. it should be pretty simple to go and pull one of 'em out.
yeah, ws. we drilled and shimmed, but the carb itself was really clean already. after this, i'm gonna attempt to replace my stock speedo/tach with my unit from TrailTech. it's much smaller and lighter, and it draws less from the battery 'cause it's all LED, and it will stay backlight when I have it hardwired into the bikes system.
i'll need a full day for that one though. and much better lighting.
