okay, I know I'm not in the league of some of you cats in terms of your mods and shit, but i've been tinkering on my own and as per requested, here are some pics, minor stuff to be sure, but stuff just the same. Doing some maintenance (as you can see), oil change and filter change, airfilter change, gonna try and hook up some led turn sigs too, if i have time. stay tuned so i can post the pics of the rear rack chop. WORD SON!

yeah marc! glad to see your making ur bike faster. is that cut-out section for the air filter?
yeah, the air filter sits in the airbox, the cut out is the top of the airbox, plus, i installed a UNI air filter, supposed to have better flow than the K&N for my bike. how are you w/ electrics WS? the bullet connectors on my leds (turn sigs) are bigger than the stock ones, so i can only make a contact connection, but when i do, the lights won't blink, they just remain steady on. if i put on the correct size bullets, will this make a difference, or do i need to add something to the equation to make them work. also, how did you get to use your leds as running lights? that's hot!
there's a eletric thingy for using LEDs instead of the regular bulbs...i don't remember the name, but that's probably what you need. it's in my Dennis Kirk catalog at home, so i'll look when i get there.
thanks WS
marc,
there is something called a "load equalizer" that sometimes you need to get the LED signals to work when replacing OEMs. here's the link. i'd first make sure you have them connected correctly w/ the appropriate size butt connectors.
thanks Alan. Is it something you think they might carry at Radio Shack?
i doubt it. they might have it at autozone though, maybe even the local moto shop.
oh yeah, good call, and there's an auto zone right around the corner from me! I still don't know how you got your's to stay on as running lights though.
a lot of bike's rear turn signals stay on even when your not turning. my old CB's front & rear turns did that. i'm pretty sure the SV's lights (rear at least) came that way. when the guy chopped off the huge OEM fender & moved the lights to the side of the license plate, they work well enough to also be a license plate light.
completely OT, kneedraggers can suck my ass! i ordered my sprockets from them last week & 1 of them arrived today. yeah, only one. even though i called the guy last week & asked "are both sprockets in the package that's supposed to arrive monday?" to which he said "yes". well, he was fucking wrong. now i have to wait until wednesday for the rear sprocket to get here.
Jinx, it puts a smile on my face to see you making you bike "yours"! Did your led's come with a relay or a resistor? Aside from your connectors, could be why they aren't working... or not.
dunno jinx, they offer two types of LED turn signals for my bike. regular and as running lights, haven't ordered them though cause them sh*ts are expensive and i have been spending mad loot on my whip.
has the cut out on the airbox made a difference?
thanks y'all for the words of encouragement. all of my mods have made a difference either in terms of the performance (much snappier and more streetable, gas mileage is down though, probably because I have been VERY liberal with the throttle 8-P). As I was sitting at a light earlier, what my bike feels and looks like in my head is completely different from what it actually looks like. It's getting there though. I am very happy with the performance of the bike, sure it's no rocket, and it'll never have the power of the rockets some of you ride, or even the vulcan for that matter, but it's tall, very visible, big suspension, and I toss it around like a rag doll. I can carry shit on it, and take it anywhere. I LOVE MY BIKE, DAMNIT!!! and I can't wait to see how I can make it better every day.
