is it wierd now or...

hey everybody,

so, we had a whirlwind day on the blog on wed, which was great for a time. then i think when i mentioned the "D" word, things got a little wierd. i never meant to impose more burdens on anyone, or anything like that, i was just trying to take it to the next level. you know, do a little something, 'cause i love bikes and i love riding.

the idea for the new site to post our messages was great, but i never really had a big problem with finding things from a particular thread, and scrolling down was not a big deal. plus i didn't get a new email whenever someone made a new post or comment(maybe i was the only one?). with the google site, i do, and it sucks. of course there has only been one post, so. but the new site doesn't seem to do what we wanted it to anyway. if we can find one that will, great, i'm all for it.

as far as the toy run goes, it was never the plan that one rider (sultan) would have to carry all the toys, it was never implied and, just because you have the biggest bike and the most luggage, whatever. i felt like you threw that in the face of the idea. i've never done a toy run before, but i have seen them, and no one (that i've seen anyway) carries more than one toy on his bike. i though we would try to gather a group of riders to each carry one, join up with a larger one, or even just ride with a toy each, and then have a support vehicle follow with toys that we can't carry. but hey, maybe it's my fault for not illustrating the point. if you don't want to do it, fine, then don't.

i was also hoping to have a bike blessing at some point as well. again i have never been to one, but i know the sultan has. maybe you could share your experiences. again, nothing big, not a wild crazy scene, but just to have some extra protection out there with the cagers. a little backup for ATGATT, you know? D2 is a man of the cloth, maybe he would like to do something like that. my mom could do it as well.

okay, well, i'm off my soap box. sorry if i made things wierd for anyone. i care and love you guys. be safe on the ride today, those who are going. if you aren't, enjoy the day. peace.

yo Jinx, its all good baby, it didn't get weird... i think we were all just exhausted from wednesday's marathon barrage of bloggin! at least i was...plus i was in class all day yesterday and today...

as far as the toy run and carrying all the stuff, i was just joking becaues i know ya'll like to give me shit about having all them bags...

like i said, it is all gravy baby.

on another note... have you seen the gas prices lately? holy little naked baby jesus. i'm about to start riding my bicycle again...

i'm glad to hear it. speaking of gas prices, listen to this...nihgt before last, i went to fill up after riding around and was looking the best price. finally settled on the sunoco on flatlands near ralph. pulled up to the pump and it prompted me to lift the handle and choose a grade of fuel. this struck me as odd, 'cause you don't usually see sh*t like that unless you are down south or something. so i figured, maybe this is some new sh*t, and they'll get me when i put the nozzle back. so i filled the tank, and then the pump prompted me to see cashier for change. so i was like, hell no, i ain't going in there, they gonna have to come get me. now i was rockin out to my ipod, so i was wondering if the attendant was trying to call me over the PA system 'cause i couldn't hear anything, but the guy pumping gas in front of me, never took notice of anything either, and the attendant never looked in my direction, so i bounced. even while i was at the light, i was checking to see if would look my way. nothing. those oil magnates have been sticking it to us all for so long, i figured HA, one for our side.

still, morally, it feels a little f*cked up. am i wrong?

oh snap!!! i don't know B, but just in case burn some sage and say 3 hail mary's, hare krishnas, and drink some wine and call it blood from little baby jesus all the while circling around your bike.

but you right, i rode by Hess today and saw $3.31 for 93, it just feels like they continually slap us in our faces and we can't do shit about it.
may 15th is supposed to be "don't buy gas day" but we've never been a unified society so i am skeptical about how impactful (is that a word?) it will be.

Jinx, as Sultan said, it's all good baby!

To be honest, I feel like I blow up the spot too much with posting on the blog so a lot of the times I won't post cause I feel like I'm taking up too much blog space or something. The torrent of posts the other day was cool, I wish it were like that more often but I know y'all got real jobs and such and may not be able to do such a thing on the regular.

Another thing, it's the SKDMRKS, and it's moto related. SKDMRKS + moto = big fucking fun, and big fucking smiles so to me, there's no stress, only much love and much fun. The only way stress can factor into any of it is if we're out on a ride and some ill shit happens but we all do our best to make sure nothing bad happens anyway so it's all good.

I think you are being too sensitive. The torrent of emails always comes and goes. I think the reactions against dues is only normal since we are still sporadic about rides and the whole club house scene.

I am sure that everyone is still down for the principle of it all. One thing I truly enjoy about our crew (even from the jump, with the exception of Nick) is how we take care of each other loot wise and in every other sense. That is what makes me want to ride at every opportunity (when I am remotely able to do so). And like this, the idea of a toy run, bike blessing and whatever is extremely cool, cause I know we will skdmrks-it-up!

I personally do not want to add more organizations to the mix, cause they do not always represent what we are. I think we havea pretty unique thing going on with skdmrks and the chill atmosphere is what makes it so special. As you know, the whole Critical Mass stuff was not my style and I will most likely cock-block motorcycle things of the same nature, even tho in principle I am down. I just don't like group mentality.

In skdmrks we are a band of loose individuals that work more like a family. But a happy family. I trust you guys more than any thing else (if I would have been riding today, I too would have a ticket, cause that is what we do... stick together). So skdmrks things I am down, it just has to be about us and not some abstract thing.

I am not saying that your suggestions were anything of the sort. Just explaining my comments.

As for the lack of response. The month of May is mad hectic. Between installing a student show, which will require that I am there everyday up until the 14th (even on weekends). Then graduation, wrapping up all kinds of stuff at Parsons, then heading up to Boston for Carlos' graduation, back to NYC and then potentially up to Margaretville for a few days to install a student project, I am completely swamped until about the 25th.

As some of you know, in the midst of all this, I am looking for a new job, wrapping up freelance gigs, etc.... shit is more hectic than usual. Hence I can't blog all the time. That is why this is so long, trying to say everything at once.

As for the blog itself. I posted a link to WordPress. They do all the features we need, for instance, if someone leaves a comment on a post, it moves it up / brings it to your attention when you sign in. No emails sent. Wordpress also transfers this blog without hick-ups. It is free, and a lot more. So if we really want to change that is an ideal place.

I was not able to get on the google group, but alas, don't really have that much time.

As for E posting too much... it is cool. I love reading all your crazy shit! I don't have that much time, so it is great to read it when I can. Your post get the most comments and I think that is because it is relevant. I post a picture of Monica and can't even get a post. Then I post crazy mofos jumping out planes and it only gets two?! What-ever!!! ; }

Post like madmen... it is much better than clogging up my email plus the archiving is extremely cool.

That is all I gotta say. Sorry I am absent, shit is just mad hectic. I still have not fixed the screw in my rear tire... maybe sunday night...
