I just got got!

3 pairs of riding boots later... the last thing I need is yet another pair of boots but I've always liked these but couldn't justify spending damn near $200 for them. Wouldn't you know it, NewEnough put'em on closeout for $107 so I had to get'em. Protection and the comfort of a pair of kicks. Check'em here if you're interested. Just putting it out there. Now if I can only find closeout pilot powers...

got to get something cool(er) to wear for the warmer weather. that and i wanna get a cheap gps for the bike too. i don't have coin like some of y'all gots. sh*t, i might have to start brewing my own beer just to get f*cked up! holla!

or maybe this.
i can wait on boots for a while, my HiTek are fine for right now. i am thinking about getting a modular joint like e's, but that may have to wait too. 'cause i wanna get a new tank, bigger=even less stops for gas, which is gonna go through the roof soon, i bet. the tank looks like this.
and waiting on my new cycle computer/speedo/tach to arrive. it looks like this.
as you can probably tell, i finally figured out the whole link thing. heh heh.

What size you wear in Shoei Jinx?

thats cool Marc...
the speedo will be cool
the body armor is nice but i'm not sure what the slide ratings/melt point are on the mesh/or other materials that hold the armor together so if you wear something over it that is durable but breathable i guess you'll have it all covered.
the tank is cool too...i realized that my tank is 5.5gallons so not as large as i thought, so yours will be larger if you get the tank but that brings me to my next question. when riding with a crew, especially on a long trip, with different bikes and different mpg and different sized tanks, do we just stop whenever someone needs to? which could be 40 miles after the previous fill-ups... just a thought. i think i wasted money by filling up when D2 did on our montreal and miami trips because i didn't want to keep stopping... knawmean?

well, last time we rode, we stopped a little more than every hundred miles or so, maybe 115, or something like that. not bad, as a rule, just to get off and stretch the legs, even if you don't need to fill up. i was able to go 225 before my first, but i don't think i would've enjoyed doing it without a short stop for a break and to talk it up a bit too. that's some thing that would be nice, to be able to talk helmet to helmet w/o those ugly chatterbox thingys.

yeah no doubt, but it is different when you are slabbin' it for long distances....cause you just want to get there eventually

el penguin said...

Well for slabbing it, my bike can go at least 120 before my reserve kicks in but I don't like to push it so I stop at or around +/- 110 miles. Besides, it gives me a chance to light a butt and stretch my short penguin legs!

Oh forgot to mention, the Zumo knows when I need gas and will tell me. It even suggests the closest gas stations of food and pee stops.

sorry el p, missed your post about the shoei size. my shoei is an xl, room for me with or sans afro, very comfortable and still passes the "roll off test". you got deals on your modular?

"you got deals on your modular?"
