So what do folks wear under their denim? Can you post some names, links images of stuff? I am trying to get something, but don't know what to look for.

good question. it's hard to find a set of decent pads that will work especially if you wear full boots...i was gonna buy a pair of the icon knee pads that lance just got, but after hearing people complained that they didn't fit well with boots i nixed the idea. alpinestars makes a set of cheap knee/shin pads, though that i still might get. they look a little thinnner down in the shin, so i think that might work.
I use these Dainese pads under jeans. I had them from when I used to go downhilling. I'm not sure if they still make'em but I'm sure you can fin something similar. As for using then with riding boots, it's not an issue cause I use'em with my Joe Rocket 3/4 boots and they don't get in the way.
doug, here are the icon knee and shin guards. you are welcome to try them on for size, you all are. i wear full boots and haven't had a problem with them fitting but i guess i have a bit more square footage between my kneecap and ankle than you guys.

go to products, then armor, then leg field armor. they even have some shorts which aren't really padded but are for saving the skin on your ass when dragging after the jeans are shredded.....ouch!
