Stats for today -
- Crew members, Shadow & el penguin
- Non Crew members, Mike (of last week), and Jack
- 2 Ducs, 2 SV's
- From BK back to BK, 410 miles.
- Average speed 67.8 (that's local, twisty, and slab)
- Top speed 127.6mph
- According to my Zumo, ride time was 8hrs, 37mins.
The day started out kinda wack. Cloudy, chilly, and we were slow to start. Headed up to 301 so that Jack (whom most of you haven't met yet) could hit some twisty things before turning back to BK. Well as it turned out, 301 was closed, we did a wackass detour to Dennytown Rd, then it was time to say bye to Jack, and to hello 87.
Once up in the Skills, the sun greeted us a a nice warm welcome. We hit all the "standards"; Peekamoose (I got to do some dirt track style riding, lost the rear of the bike twice), Clareyville at 60-75mph!! (no dirt track riding this time), and for the piece d'resistance, we did RT30 which was clean and dry and we were able to do the whole thing between 80-90mph. Capped it off with a meal at the Roscoe Diner, then it was a nice quick and easy slab ride home. All in all, a great day of riding, sorry you working stiffs missed it. The wind was a bit fierce, my neck is sore from all the headshake turbulence, but it's worth it. Oh, and my rear tire is all melty looking, there's bits of rubber all torn to shreds, not cool. Time to do some shopping online. The upside is that I can now say the Zumo is the SHIT! I plotted a route last night but I couldn't sync it into the Zumo (found out tonight that I need to update the Zumo software), but I was still able to navigate by it with street names and all. It even tells me when I need to start looking for a gas station cause it knows my mileage, it's bananas I tell you. BANANAS. Next boys time, next time.

e,
here's a link for the Pilot Powers
http://www.ridenow.com/product/detail/MPP.aspx - $113 + shipping
oh, i wouldn't buy it from them b/c they're slow on shipping, but if you call dennis kirk, they'll match the price (usually $169 - what are they thinking with those hi prices!?) . shipping might be a little more though.
wow... 410 miles in 8 hours.... that is bananas. Glad you got some good riding in. I was wondering how your day went. And by the sounds of it, no drama... nice!
My month of May looks pretty grim in terms of riding. But I will try to sneak in as many rides as possible. But it is not looking good.
Sorry about all that. It is just the transition of ending this job... keep your fingers crossed that I get a job and that it allows for weekend trips...
word d. get that shit taken care of.
