...somewhere between my bike's constipated whine sound and getting tired of not hearing the bmw boxer purrr AT ALL when riding with you fucks with your loud ass pipes...
...between finally starting to create the vision i have had for my bike's "stealth look" and hours of internet research logged...
i came across this yesterday....
full remus exhaust system, made especially for the GS, black ceramic coated and with only a couple hundred miles wear. the wealthy bastard who had it on his bike, which is all black and carbon btw, saw and heard the akrapovic system and swapped. one man's trash is another's treasure.
they'll be shipped out tomorrow!
too bad i didn't win the cast wheels i saw on ebay yesterday which i was going to have powder coated black, thereby finishing the stealth mode look i am going for. should've bid higher, but i didn't.
oh well, maybe i'll order an air intake and k & n filter as a consolation to myself. it's about time i let the big boxer 12 breath and express herself a bit more and get a couple more horses out of it at the same time. she'll still be quiet compared to your bikes but i am definitely not trying to compete with that loud little bike ruckus. i know they are bad ass and they aren't really little bikes but they are to me.

looks gansta... brah... I don't even hear my bike when el penguino is around. But when he leaves... I be hearing my bike!
That is hot... congrats...
loud little bike ruckus...ha ha ha. i laugh only 'cause my bike still sounds like a lawnmower.
those pipes look really nice, going for the stealth look? a challenge for sure with something as gigantic as you and your bike, look like a skinny black camel! ha ha ha, i really crack myself up.
i guess none of us three are riding today, wonder where the other two are? must be halfway to the border by now, ya think?
Damn, why you hating on my loud ass bike y'all?!? Folks will me/us coming and get outta the way, makes for safer riding, or so I'm told!
Sultan, you done fucked up now. See, once you start with carbon cans, the next thing you know, your whole bike is carbon... those pipes are hot though!
word sultan. 'bout time you got some pipes. i bet ur shit is gonna be loud!
Lance - make sure that you use hi-temp silicone gasket maker like this to help seal the exhaust so you might experience "popping" or slight backfiring when you roll off the throttle. My 2¢.

My bad, I meant so you don't experience popping or backfiring.
E, thanks for the heads up. Does the gasket maker work in conjunction with the header gaskets? or as a replacement? do you use it at all joints or just at the header?
You use it at any connection. If there's a gasket already at the header then skip it there, but use it at the mid pipe connections and at the connection to the can. You can get the stuff at pepboys or auto zone. Just make sure it's hi-temp and is safe for your O2 sensor if you have one.
e... Can I use that as well? I have heard my bike backfiring a few times. It never used to do that... What do you use? I gotta get that checked out...
I have two O2 sensors! hey but how do I know if the silicone is safe for my sensors? i guess i can ask a service guy from bmw. i will have gaskets at the headers but there are two other connections that have those bracket thingies, i could use it there.
D, i'm pretty sure everyone with a pipe can benefit from the silicone creating a tighter seal on your exhaust. although, i kind of got used to and like the backfiring on a bike's pipe but maybe that is because i am native to this f'd up country where most worship those god damn harley davidsons and so now think the improper seal of an exhaust system & the sounds it makes is not only acceptable but desired.
anyway....
The package of the sealent will tell you if it's safe to use with O2 sensors, Permatex makes all that shit. I got mine at Pepboys on 4th Ave.
D2, backfiring & popping on decel can happen for a bunch of reasons; your exhaust isn't sealed properly, your bike's running too lean, or sometimes even too rich. Ya gots to investigate your baby.
I know mine's too lean but that's a factory condition and there's nothing I can do about it yet until a PCIII comes out, when it does though I'm gonna finally open my airbox so my bike can breath. Oh, and it'll be louder too! Also, I know for a fact I have an exhuast leak, it's between my mid pipe and my right can.
