Not too sure I get it...
basically the man tracking our travels via a satellite gps service that we pay for... i think this trip was a recap of a guy's actual trip i read about.
i guess the handy thing is if you get lost or your bike gets lost and never heard from again someone can track your ass. obviously, not a good idea for things like project "scram"
