you need an authorization from the finance company to take a US registered bike across the Mexican border. It's not 'any' border. Even if your finance company doesn't require it, Mexican Customs does, as part of Mexican-entry paperwork. See any of the several specialty companies selling Mexican motor vehicle insurance (your USA bike insurance doesn't work in Mexico), e.g. http://www.sanbornsinsurance.com/entry_customs.html:"
2. If the vehicle is financed, is a rental car, is leased, and/or a company car, a notarized letter of permission is required from the lienholder or lending institution."

gotta love bureaucracy. interesting that US insurance won't work south of the border.
Hhhmm, let's see... millions of Mexicans jumping the US border, millions of Mexicans living and working here illegally, and they're sweating folks cause they got good credit?
it is just another way of oppressing my brown brothers... you can't co-own a joint and head down south... what? With the global reach, they can't re-possess my shit in mexico? hmmmm....
Sultán (spoken with a heavy spanish accent), thanks for the post...
